So Long to Soup’s On!

Share it:

After 20 years of fun and delicious soup, it is with heavy hearts that Share’s Soup’s On! event has been discontinued. This decision was not made lightly, but rather as stewards of our mission to better serve our clients by spending less resources devoted to two major events a year and more devoted to our mission-focused programs.

We are grateful to all the guests, chefs, potters and sponsors for the memories we made together, thank you! Enjoy highlights from the event below.

Originally called Share-A-Bowl, the first event was held in 2002 at the Lupke Center and then Sky View High School. The intent of the event was to help people better understand what your life could look like if you had to wait in a “soup line” for your meals every day, like people do at our Hot Meals kitchen every day.

Share-A-Bowl became Soup’s On! in 2011 when the popularity of the Food Network inspired us to celebrate local chefs and restaurants with a competition for the best soup with the winner taking home the Golden Ladle. As the event evolved, we invited local artists to create beautiful, hand-thrown bowls for each guest to take home.
