“We began the MyPlate program on June 1, 2014. We decided that it was in the best interest of our clients to implement a healthier meal plan that includes more fresh produce and less nutrient deficient, sugary, fat-laden foods.” Holley Walhood, Share Food Coordinator
Share provides daily, free meals for the homeless and low-income members of our community. And those who enjoy the meals are not limited to Outreach and shelter clients. They also include individuals and families who are working, but who are still not able to make enough money to make ends meet. Much of the food used in the program is donated by area grocery stores and is prepared each day by volunteers and staff.
Meals are served daily at Share House:
Monday-Friday: 6:30-7 a.m., 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. & 5:00-5:30 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 9:00-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-4 p.m.
Share Hot Meals provided 91,805 free meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) to the public in 2016. An additional 33,000+ meals are served at our family shelters each year.
