This position is responsible for supporting the Housing First Director in the supervision of the daily operations of Lincoln Place, a site-based housing first program, a HUD funded scattered site housing first program, a street outreach program and a day center. The Housing First Assistant Director will assist the Housing First Director in supervising the outreach housing case managers, client support specialists, activities coordinator and graveyard staff (14 people).
The Housing First Assistant Director provides support to the staff and clients, especially when the program director is not available on nights and weekends. This position is responsible for ensuring that the staff are working with clients in a strength based-supportive and ethical manner, providing client centered solutions to complex problems, offering support and guidance to staff during crisis, overseeing quality assurance and evaluation of programs, completing annual staff evaluations and collaborating with community partners and Key Properties and the Vancouver Housing Authority to ensure that building is safe and being well maintained.

The Talkin’ Trash Crew Leader is responsible for leading a crew of 3-6 people who are or have been experiencing homelessness in cleaning up trash in the public areas and right of way in the community. Direction for where to clean will be offered by the City of Vancouver Sanitation Department to the program director. The crew leader will ensure that all crew members are properly trained in waste disposal, especially around needles and other dangerous materials. The crew leader will ensure that crew members are properly equipped for safety and the weather. Staff will provide support and guidance to the crew including coaching and conflict resolution as appropriate. This position will ensure that a work site is clean when leaving, that crew members are appropriate when engaging with the community, will transport crew to and from locations and report any necessary information to the program director in a timely manner.
