Share is seeking a creative and caring individual to be our next Share Homestead Director. This position is responsible for the supervision of the daily operations of Share Homestead, a family shelter that serves families and single women aiding them in moving into permanent housing, and an overnight shelter for hard to serve women experiencing homelessness called Women Housing and Transition (WHAT). The WHAT is located at a local church, is a housing first model with voluntary services and where pets are welcomed. The Homestead Director directly supervises the four case managers at Share Homestead along with a shared assistant director, a shared graveyard relief worker and a resident staff manager. At the WHAT the supervisor manages evening case managers and graveyard staff. The Homestead Director is responsible for ensuring that the staff are properly trained, that they are working with clients in a strength-based, supportive and ethical manner providing client centered solutions to complex problems, providing on-going coaching to staff, completing annual staff evaluations and collaborating with the Vancouver Housing Authority or the church to ensure that the buildings are safe and being well maintained.

The Shelter Case Manager facilitates the smooth operation of the shelter and monitors the safety and security of all shelter residents in a supportive and comfortable environment. Areas of responsibility may include maintaining case management of residents including needs assessments and progress reviews, accurate shelter records, monitoring resident compliance with program guidelines, greeting volunteers and donors, supervising meal preparation, resident house chores, and documenting all activity in the daily log.

The Talkin’ Trash Crew Leader is responsible for leading a crew of 3-6 people who are or have been experiencing homelessness in cleaning up trash in the public areas and right of way in the community. Direction for where to clean will be offered by the City of Vancouver Sanitation Department to the program director. The crew leader will ensure that all crew members are properly trained in waste disposal, especially around needles and other dangerous materials. The crew leader will ensure that crew members are properly equipped for safety and the weather. Staff will provide support and guidance to the crew including coaching and conflict resolution as appropriate. This position will ensure that a work site is clean when leaving, that crew members are appropriate when engaging with the community, will transport crew to and from locations and report any necessary information to the program director in a timely manner.

The Client Support Specialist will provide support to clientele living in a site based permanent supportive housing program for formally homeless individuals. Client Support Specialists work closely with Housing Case Managers to implement individualized client centered care and play an integral role in supporting clients in maintaining their housing. The role of the Client Support Specialist is to assist participants in achieving independence and self-sufficiency by assisting with life skills development, modeling and coaching prosocial behaviors, and being a dependable and caring support person.
